Dr. Oz makes case to lead Medicare agency

Leading the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services presents a “monumental opportunity” to make the country healthier, Dr. Mehmet Oz told senators Friday at his confirmation hearing. President Donald Trump’s pick for CMS administrator told the Senate Finance Committee that America is struggling with soaring health care costs and higher obesity rates than other countries. “We have a generational opportunity to fix our health care system and help people stay healthy for longer,” he said in his opening remarks.
