Trump nominates Lori Chavez-DeRemer for Labor secretary

President-elect Donald Trump has chosen Republican U.S. Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer as his nominee to lead the Labor Department. Chavez-DeRemer recently lost her re-election in a close race against Democrat Janelle Bynum in Oregon's fifth Congressional district. She's backed by the Teamsters Union. Sean O'Brien, the president of the Teamsters, thanked Trump for selecting Chavez-DeRemer for the position in a post on X.
