Super Bowl LIX: Top food trends for game day, according to Google

The Super Bowl is here, and you can’t have a proper Super Bowl without the staple game day eats.

Google compiled lists of some of the top-searched Super Bowl day food items, as well as each state’s favorite wing flavors and dips. 

Here’s a look at what your fellow Americans are indulging in for Super Bowl Sunday.

Charcuterie boards were the top trending search related to Super Bowl food in the past week, according to Google.

For the truly dedicated cooks who want to embody the football theme in their food, "football shaped crackers" and "football shaped cookies" were among the top trending searches.

Overall, the top trending Super Bowl appetizers were "7 layer dip" and "pigs in a blanket." 

For some Americans who wish to balance out the fried and sugary treats that typically go along with a Super Bowl smorgasbord, some of the top trending Super Bowl salad searches were "chicken salad" and "pasta salad," according to Google.

Where is Super Bowl LIX?

Super Bowl LIX is being played at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

New Orleans was originally supposed to host Super Bowl LVIII in 2024, but when the NFL decided to extend the regular season by a game, the move pushed the Super Bowl into conflict with the city’s Mardi Gras celebrations, so the game was moved to Las Vegas and awarded Super Bowl LIX to New Orleans for 2025, when Mardi Gras falls in March.
