Asian shares higher as Trump eases electronic tariffs

Technology shares mostly rose in reaction to a late Friday announcement by the Trump administration of tariff exemptions for smartphones, laptops, semiconductors and other electronics -- all key Chinese-made products. This comes as President Trump continues his tariff war with China. Meanwhile, China's exports jumped 12.4% in March from a year earlier in a last-minute flurry of activity as companies rushed to beat increases in U.S. tariffs imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump, and analysts forecast sharp setbacks ahead.
