Taxi strikes pedestrians near Herald Square
Six people were injured after a taxi cab struck a group of pedestrians outside the Herald Square Macy's on Christmas Day. The incident happened just after 4 p.m. at 34th Street and 6th Avenue.Authorities say a yellow cab jumped the curb and struck the victims. A 9-year-old boy sustained a laceration to his right side, while a 41-year-old woman sustained a head injury. Both were taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center. A 49-year-old woman sustained a leg injury, and was taken to Bellevue Hospital. All three are said to be in stable condition. Three other victims, a 49-year-old woman, a 37-year-old woman and a 19-year-old woman sustained minor injuries and refused further medical attention. The driver of the taxi is a 58-year-old man. Police say they do not know why or what caused him to hit the pedestrians. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. FOX News' CB Cotton joined LiveNOW from FOX with the latest information.
