VP Harris speaks at Phoenix Awards Dinner in D.C.

Current Vice President Kamala Harris spoke alongside President Joe Biden at an event in Washington, DC Saturday evening. The Phoenix Awards are the flagship signature event of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s Annual Legislative Conference. According to the CBCF website, the awards give "recognition to people who are serving as leaders and trailblazers for the Black community, creating more opportunities for the next generation in the process." Harris' running mate, current Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, spoke earlier in the day at a rally in Superior, Wisconsin with his wife, Gwen Walz. Wisconsin is one of many key battleground states in the 2024 presidential election.
