US seizes plane of Venezuelan President Maduro

The United States seized the luxury jet in the Dominican Republic and transferred to the custody of federal officials in Florida, saying Maduro was in violation of U.S. export control and sanctions laws. U.S. officials say the aircraft was illegally purchased through a shell company and smuggled out of the United States. The plane, registered to San Marino, was widely used by Maduro for foreign travel, including in trips earlier this year to Guyana and Cuba.
