Mortgage rates climb for the first time since May

The national average on the 30-year, fixed-rate mortgage rose to 6.95% from 6.86% a week prior, according to Freddie Mac. The increase snaps a monthlong streak of rate declines and pushes rates back to their level in mid-June.
