US military heightens security due to threats
Security protection has been raised by the U.S. military at its bases throughout Europe, asking service members to keep a lower profile and be more vigilant due to threats it is seeing across the region. U.S. European Command said in a statement Sunday that a “variety of factors play into the safety of U.S. military community abroad.” The increase of threat level to Charlie, the second-highest of five levels for service members, comes from a combination of elections in the U.K. and France, the upcoming Olympic games and the ongoing wars in Ukraine and Gaza, according to two U.S. officials who spoke on the condition. They have not said they are aware of any specific threat. Ken Gray joins Jeane Franseen to discuss the latest.
