LiveNOW’s Mike Pache is speaking with TMZ’s Michael Babcock as lawyers for Sean "Diddy" Combs ask a federal appeals court to overturn the conviction that sent the hip-hop mogul to prison on prostitution-related charges. Combs’ lawyers are arguing he was treated unfairly at trial and that the First Amendment should apply. According to our partners at FOX 5 New York, the 56-year-old has been in custody since his arrest in September 2024. The Federal Bureau of Prisons has said he is scheduled to be released in April 2028. 

Senator Bernie Sanders spoke to supporters at a "Tax the Rich" rally held today in the Bronx, New York. The event focused heavily on wealth redistribution and increased taxation on corporations and the nation's wealthiest citizens. The event coincides with the ongoing effort by Senator Sanders and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to impose a moratorium on AI data centers. 

We are learning more after two pilots were killed during a ground collision at LaGuardia Airport late Sunday. Both were operating an Air Canada Express CRJ-900 regional jet that was attempting to land. According to federal investigators, control of the aircraft was transferred from the first officer to the captain just seconds before the incident. LiveNOW’s Austin Westfall is speaking with Hunter Shkolnik, an aviation accident attorney, after tragedy struck New York's LaGuardia Airport late Sunday night. It all happened when an Air Canada passenger plane collided with a fire truck, leaving two people dead and dozens more injured. Reports indicate that the pilot and first officer of the Air Canada Express CRJ-900, which was landing in New York on its way from Montreal, died as a result of the incident. Federal officials described the pilots as "two young men at the start of their careers." 

We are getting the latest updates out of New York City after a number of streets were closed Tuesday afternoon as the police urged residents to avoid an area near Gracie Mansion. This is the official residence of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani. LiveNOW’s Mike Pache is speaking with Linda Schmidt from FOX 5 New York after police announced that a suspicious device was found near Carl Schurz Park. NYPD officials have since said the device had been cleared and was determined to be non-threatening. 

We are learning new information today about the two individuals accused of bringing explosives to a protest outside the official residence of the Mayor of New York. The pair of teens have been charged with attempting to provide material support to ISIS, use of a weapon of mass destruction, and related offenses. We are hearing this Sunday from Governor of New York, Kathy Hochul, as New York City is bracing for its first blizzard in more than a decade. This comes as major snowfall still remains across much of the state. According to our partners at Fox Weather, total accumulations for the New York City area are expected to be between 16 and 24 inches, while parts of New Jersey could see 20–30 inches. Governor Hochul’s remarks came after New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani declared a state of emergency for the city’s five boroughs.
