Judge dismisses corruption case against Mayor Adams

A federal judge dismissed New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ corruption case on Wednesday, acquiescing to the Justice Department’s extraordinary request to set aside criminal charges so the Democrat could help with President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown. The judge, though, denied prosecutors the ability to potentially bring the criminal case back after the mayoral election. Judge Dale E. Ho’s order to dismiss the case “with prejudice” spares Adams from having to govern in a way that pleases Trump, or potentially risk having the Republican’s Justice Department revive the charges.

Florida doctor accused of kissing, hugging patient

A Florida doctor is behind bars this morning accused of inappropriately touching a patient. Police say a woman in her 50s said that her doctor, Jose Jacob, 65, hugged her closely and kissed her twice without her consent after asking her inappropriate questions.

20 school workers charged in child abuse case

20 school workers have been charged in connection with a child abuse case in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Authorities say as many as 26 children, from kindergartners to fifth graders, were victims of the alleged abuse. The investigation was launched after parents complained that their children feared being placed in ‘holds’ by school staff.

Mom, 2 daughters killed crossing street in Brooklyn

A driver was arrested after a weekend crash on Ocean Parkway in Brooklyn killed a mother and her two children. 32-year-old Miriam Yarimi faces a slew of charges following Saturday's crash. Yarimi is a wigmaker who was driving with the vanity plate ‘WIGM8KER,’ according to the New York Post.
