Spring football: When do the UFL games start?

The Philadelphia Eagles put an exclamation point on their season with a dominant Super Bowl win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, bringing the NFL season to a close. But you don’t have to wait too long without football.
The UFL spring football league returns in 2025, kicking off on Friday, March 28.
What is UFL football?
The backstory:
The United Football League (UFL) is just what its name implies: A combination of the XFL and USFL leagues, both of which were recently resurrected from previous incarnations.
The leagues merged in time for a 2024 season with eight teams:
USFL conference:
- Birmingham Stallions
- Houston Roughnecks
- Memphis Showboats
- Michigan Panthers
XFL conference:
- Arlington Renegades
- DC Defenders
- San Antonio Brahmas
- St. Louis Battlehawks
The season concluded in June with the Birmingham Stallions dominating the San Antonio Brahmas 25-0 in the championship game.
UFL 2025 schedule
What's next:
The 2025 season will kick off Friday, March 28. The St. Louis Battlehawks visit the Houston Roughnecks in a kickoff game that will be the first of many held on a Friday this year. All games in the new Friday night time slot will be broadcast on FOX, FOX Sports reports.
The 2025 season will consist of a 10-week regular-season schedule, with no bye weeks, followed by a two-week postseason consisting of XFL and USFL conference title games and the 2025 UFL Championship Game on June 14.
UFL games will once again be aired on FOX, ABC and ESPN.
