The Pittsburgh Pirates have a once-in-a-lifetime offer for a lucky fan in exchange for a rare Paul Skenes rookie card.
Skenes, a star pitcher for the Pirates, has a 1/1 Rookie Debut Patch autograph card that recently debuted, and the team wants to share it with the Pittsburgh Pirates fan base.
And the team is willing to give a substantial prize for the card.
In a social media post on X from the Pittsburgh Pirates, the club said they are offering two Pirates season tickets behind home plate for the next 30 years, a softball game at PNC Park plus coaching from Pirates alum, a special spring training experience, two autographed Paul Skene jerseys, a meet up with Skenes, and batting practice and warmups with the Pirates team.
This rare card can be found in a pack of 2024 Topps Chrome Update, which debuted on Nov. 13.
Skenes was the No. 1 pick in the 2023 draft out of LSU and made his major league debut on May 11 and had an outstanding rookie year, including being selected to start in the All-Star Game for the National League.
The 22-year-old right-hander finished with an 11-3 record and a 1.96 ERA in 23 starts. Skenes also struck out 170 batters and walked 32 in 133 innings, the Associated Press reported.
