Where is Donald Trump today?
Following an attempt on his life during a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, former President Donald Trump was said to have spent the morning in New Jersey as he had previously planned to spend the night in his private golf club near Bedminster.
Trump flew to New Jersey after visiting a local Pennsylvania hospital, landing shortly after midnight at Newark Liberty International Airport. Video posted by an aide showed the former president leaving his private jet flanked by U.S. Secret Service agents and heavily armed members of the agency’s counter assault team, an unusually visible show of force by his protective detail.
Sunday afternoon, Trump shared on social media that he was going to leave for Milwaukee as planned that day ahead of the Republican National Convention.
He said previously he'll speak as planned later in the week, and that he considered delaying his travel to Milwaukee but decided against it.

"Based on yesterday’s terrible events, I was going to delay my trip to Wisconsin, and The Republican National Convention, by two days, but have just decided that I cannot allow a "shooter," or potential assassin, to force change to scheduling, or anything else. Therefore, I will be leaving for Milwaukee, as scheduled, at 3:30 P.M. TODAY," he posted.

Trump ‘in great spirits’ and ‘doing well,’ staff memo says
In the memo obtained by The Associated Press, Trump’s senior campaign advisers thanked the Secret Service and all first responders for their efforts.
The memo also said staff in Washington and West Palm Beach, Florida, should stay away from the office as they assess those locations. The memo also said they’re enhancing the armed security presence on-site.
"Our highest priority is to keep all of you on this staff safe," the memo said.
The memo also told staff not to comment publicly on the apparent assassination attempt against Trump and that dangerous rhetoric on social media won’t be tolerated.
On Sunday morning, the president released another statement on his Truth Social account, once again thanking "everyone" for their thoughts and prayers and called for unity after his apparent assassination attempt.
"Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers yesterday, as it was God alone who prevented the unthinkable from happening. We will FEAR NOT, but instead remain resilient in our Faith and Defiant in the face of Wickedness. Our love goes out to the other victims and their families. We pray for the recovery of those who were wounded, and hold in our hearts the memory of the citizen who was so horribly killed. In this moment, it is more important than ever that we stand United, and show our True Character as Americans, remaining Strong and Determined, and not allowing Evil to Win. I truly love our Country, and love you all, and look forward to speaking to our Great Nation this week from Wisconsin," the former president wrote.
When is the RNC?
The Republican National Convention is set to begin Monday, July 15, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with official sessions taking place at Fiserv Forum.
RNC headliners and speakers
On Saturday, just hours before the shooting at his rally, the headliners were announced for the convention. Speakers include family, entertainers, celebrities and industry leaders:
- Family: Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, Lara Trump, and Kimberly Guilfoyle
- The three top contenders for the vice presidential nomination: Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, Ohio Sen. JD Vance and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum
- Savannah Chrisley, TV Personality and Criminal Justice Reform Advocate
- Amber Rose, Rapper & Influencer
- Dana White, CEO of UFC
- Bob Unanue, CEO of Goya Foods
- Tucker Carlson, Television Host
- And many more
Notably, the list did not include the former First Lady Melania Trump. A person familiar with the schedule confirmed that she would attend but not speak.

A calendar of events for the Republican National Convention has been released on the site’s website, but does not include which nights or at what time the speakers will take the stage.
