Former president Donald Trump has won enough electoral votes to retake the White House, FOX News projects. However, The Associated Press and other media outlets say the race between Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris is still too close to call.

Just before 2 a.m. ET, FOX News called the races in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin for Trump, putting him over the Electoral College's 270-vote threshold to win.

The crowd at Trump's Mar-a-Lago watch party erupted in cheers as the network announced their conclusion, though Trump himself had yet to take the stage.

Swing state results

Several critical states are still processing ballots early Wednesday – especially mail-in votes, which could significantly impact the outcome. Here’s an update on where things stand in these states:

  • Pennsylvania (19 electoral votes): The state was sitting at 94% of all votes counted as of early Wednesday, with Trump in the lead.
  • Michigan (15 electoral votes): The state was sitting at 64% of all votes counted as of early Wednesday, with Trump in the lead.
  • Arizona (11 electoral votes): The state was sitting at 51% of all votes counted as of early Wednesday, with Trump in the lead.
  • Wisconsin (10 electoral votes): The state was sitting at 88% of all votes counted as of early Wednesday, with Trump in the lead.
  • Nevada (6 electoral votes): The state was sitting at 80% of all votes counted as of early Wednesday, with Trump in the lead.

Democrats emphasize "count every vote"

Harris had no immediate comment. The co-chair of her campaign had previously announced that she would not be appearing at her Howard University watch party, noting that "we still have votes to count."
