A legendary Taco Bell item has quietly returned to the menu, but only for a limited time.

The Double Decker taco is officially back on the menu, according to Taco Bell’s Instagram page and other reports. The last time Double Decker fans had the chance to order it was last December, when Taco Bell gave it a limited run thanks to customer demands.

"be like the double decker taco. here for a good time not a long time," Taco Bell posted on Instagram.

The Double Decker is a regular crunchy taco, but wrapped inside a soft flour tortilla filled with refried beans. It costs $2 and will remain on the menu until Oct. 30, according to Allrecipes.

In August, the fast food chain announced it was testing a "Nostalgia Menu" at some California locations. That menu includes the Tostada, Green Burrito, Meximelt, Beef Gordita Supreme, and Caramel Apple Empanada. Reports say the oldies currently only available in southern California could be added to menus nationwide.

The Double Decker had a long run on the Taco Bell menu before it was discontinued in 2019. It debuted in 1995 as a limited-time menu item, but it was added permanently in 2006. It remained on the menu until 2019 and has only been back for limited runs since then.

When Taco Bell asked fans in 2022 which menu item should be brought back, the Enchirito beat out the Double Decker.
