When is Spotify Wrapped? Streamer chimes in about counting rumor
Perhaps one of the biggest end-of-year conversations on social media is right around the corner - Spotify Wrapped.
And the music streaming giant clarified a long-standing mystery and rumor about the process last week, saying your streams could still be counting as we speak.
"Spotify Wrapped doesn’t stop counting on October 31," the company posted on social media on Halloween.
Listeners have long obsessed over figuring out when the streaming window closes, as Spotify needs time to analyze and present the results. Some spend the last minutes squeezing in their favorite songs and artists to try and tip their results. It’s a badge of honor to be in an artist's top 3% of listeners.
Although Spotify said it doesn’t stop counting streams on Halloween as previously suspected, it didn’t clarify when the window closes either.

What is Spotify Wrapped?
Spotify Wrapped is a personalized look at your year in streams. Listeners love it because they learn the artist and songs they listened to the most that year, as well as the perhaps embarrassing number of times they had their favorite song on repeat, and other musical or podcast tidbits. Spotify presents the results in catchy graphics that are easily shareable to other social media platforms.
Spotify also releases at this time its top-streamed artists and songs across the board.
When is Spotify Wrapped 2024?
Spotify Wrapped has dropped on a different day nearly every year, so it’s not possible to say when exactly to expect it in 2024.
But we can take clues from years past to get a timeframe of what window to expect:
- Nov. 29 (2023)
- Nov. 30 (2022)
- Dec. 1 (2021, 2020)
- Dec. 5 (2019)
- Dec. 6 (2018)
In the meantime, "Keep playing what you love, and we’ll get in touch when it’s ready," Spotify says.
