Michelle Obama and her brother launch new podcast ‘IMO’ with star-studded guests

Former first lady Michelle Obama and her brother, Craig Robinson, are teaming up for a new podcast series that will explore life, relationships, and personal growth with a star-studded lineup of guests.

Titled "IMO with Michelle Obama & Craig Robinson," the show will feature conversations with figures from entertainment, sports, and business. 

The first two episodes debut March 12, starting with an introduction to the series followed by a conversation with actor Issa Rae.

Who’s joining Michelle Obama on 'IMO'?

The backstory:

The podcast, produced by Higher Ground—the media company founded by the Obamas—is Obama’s third foray into podcasting. Her previous projects include "The Michelle Obama Podcast" in 2020 and "The Light We Carry" in 2023.

Some of the high-profile guests confirmed for the new series include:

  • Actors: Keke Palmer, Tracee Ellis Ross, Seth and Lauren Rogen
  • Athletes: Abby Wambach, Dwyane Wade, and Gabrielle Union
  • Authors and media personalities: Jay Shetty, Glennon Doyle, Angie Martinez, Elaine Welteroth
  • Business leaders: Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky

Obama said the goal of the podcast is to help listeners navigate everyday challenges.

"There is no single way to deal with the challenges we may be facing—whether it’s family, faith, or our personal relationships—but taking the time to open up and talk about these issues can provide hope," Obama said in a statement.
