Olympics' latest star is a Norwegian who loves chocolate muffins: "I have a problem"

Olympic swimmer Henrik Christiansen is on a mission to spread the gospel about what he calls the "single greatest thing about the Olympic Village" – chocolate muffins.

Christiansen, of Norway, is in Paris to compete in the 2024 Olympics, but his love for the chocolate muffins served to athletes in the Olympic Village has taken an entertaining front seat.

Since he arrived in Paris, Christiansen has posted nearly a dozen videos on social media showcasing just how passionate he is about the muffins.

"I hereby declare myself the Olympic muffin man," Christiansen raved on TikTok.

Christiansen, a three-time Olympian, is set to compete in the men’s 800m and 1500m freestyle. But when he’s not in the pool, you’ll likely find him near the muffin table.

It all started when Christiansen shared a review of dining hall foods in Olympic Village before the opening ceremony had taken place. He gave the "choccy muff" an 11/10, and the rest is history.

He’s been back for more every day, posting videos of sunsets with a chocolate muffin in hand and scenes of the muffin with love songs playing in the background.

And thanks to Christiansen, the chocolate muffin fame has spread. Stephen Nedoroscik, a Team USA pommel horse star, has also shared his love for the muffin.

"There’s that filling of chocolate in the middle," he told PEOPLE this week. "It is delicious."

An aide at the Olympics posted on TikTok that she was trying to find the chocolate muffins, "but I’m pretty sure that Norwegian swimmer stole them all."

French catering company Coup de Pates took credit for the muffins on LinkedIn, giving Christiansen and his followers hope that he can enjoy his newfound favorite food when he returns to Norway.
