Great-grandmother wins $5M lottery prize after completing radiation treatments for breast cancer

A great-grandmother won a $5 million lottery prize after she finished radiation treatments for breast cancer.
Donna Osborne captured the massive cash prize after she bought a $50 scratch-off lottery ticket from a convenience store after a planned family vacation to Florida didn’t work out, according to a Pennsylvania Lottery release.
"I was at the airport with my daughter. We were on our way to see family in Florida when the flight got delayed. Well, it was delayed so many times, I decided to go home. My daughter stayed and flew to Florida," Osborne said. "If I didn’t leave the airport, I would have never bought that ticket!"

The 75-year-old said she scratched the ticket in the store parking lot and was shocked to learn she won the multimillion dollar prize.
Osborne called her daughter to share the great news but said she didn’t believe her, the release noted.

The Pennsylvania resident has worked for years providing transportation for Amish people but has no plans of retiring.
When asked about her plans for the money, Osborne told Pennsylvania Lottery officials she plans to invest some of it and will take a trip to Alaska.
